He was educated at the Tengku Mahmud Iskandar Secondary School in Johore before pursuing his architectural education at University Technology Of Malaysia (1980-1983), Hull School Of Architecture, U.K. (1984-1986) and Birmingham Polytechnic, U.K. (1990). His overseas experiences include a stint at Blackmore Sons & Co. Hull and the Birmingham based firms of Essex Goodman & Sunggit and Bonham Reynolds Associate. On his return to Malaysia, he worked with Perunding Alam Bina where he was involved in the design of the Cardiothoric Centre K.L. and later to the Lembaga Kemajuan Johor Tenggara (KEJORA), which provides him with a lot of contractual and management expertise. In 1993 he joined FY Architects as a partner. In 1993 he form IRC Architect and established the office in Johor Baharu. He is a corporated member of Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia and registered Architect with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia. He served as Chairman of PAM Southern Chapter
